Anger Management
Anger is a powerful and important emotion. It sometimes helps us to motivate change or a response to injustice. Without anger we would experience chaos in our social order. Anger can move us to help others that are being taken advantage of, robbed, beaten, or harmed in some way. Anger can provide us with the will to protect ourselves and our family, and community. Without anger, we would be complacent and not take any action to help our fellow man.
Anger can become a problem for the individual that is jealous, resentful, fearful, controlling, responses with rage, has a depressed mood, and/or feels that life is out of control.
It is important to make the distinction between the emotion of anger and the behavior that follows. A person can be angry and not aggressive, abusive or intimidating.
Our anger management program covers all of the major points in understanding, managing, and feeling in control of oneself through our behavior. Conflict resolution and better communication skills helps each of us avoid feelings of uncontrolled anger and outbursts of aggressive behavior.
The anger management program is tailored to your specific needs, and that is why I offer individual sessions to address this problem. I recommend a minimum of six sessions to allow enough time to teach the material and to practice the newly learned behaviors.
